DUBAI – Dubai is set to strengthen its global economic storytelling capabilities with the launch of ‘Dubai Business’, a new specialised media platform operating under Dubai Media Incorporated.

The initiative was approved during a Dubai Media Council meeting chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The platform aims to deliver high-quality business content, analysis and insights that reflect Dubai’s growing role as a leading global destination for investment, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The new platform supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and forms part of efforts to enhance Dubai’s media ecosystem by developing specialised content across sectors driving economic growth. It will provide audiences worldwide with data-driven coverage of key industries, including finance, business, digital economy, technology, artificial intelligence, aviation, logistics and real estate.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed said Dubai’s rapid growth as a global economic and investment destination requires a media platform capable of keeping pace with its transformation and communicating its achievements through accurate information and in-depth analysis.

“The new platform will convey Dubai’s economic success story to the world, track global shifts, and highlight the opportunities it offers to investors and entrepreneurs worldwide,” he said.

He added that media has always been a key partner in Dubai’s development journey, with ‘Dubai Business’ set to strengthen the emirate’s international economic standing through high-quality content that reflects its position as a global economic centre and its ability to shape future opportunities.

Economic focus

The platform will be developed in line with Dubai Media Incorporated’s vision to expand specialised media offerings and strengthen coverage of sectors that contribute to long-term economic growth. It will feature integrated business content built around research, analysis and forward-looking insights.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, said the launch represents an important step in the continued development of Dubai Media Incorporated and its role in showcasing the emirate’s achievements.

She noted that Dubai continues to lead global competitiveness indicators across multiple economic sectors, supported by its position as a major hub for international trade, business, financial services, technology and innovation.

Al Marri added that ‘Dubai Business’ will present a clear picture of Dubai’s economic and investment landscape, highlighting the emirate’s role as a major contributor to the global economy and providing audiences with a deeper understanding of its opportunities and growth areas.

Gaming growth

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming “Gaming Retreat”, which will explore opportunities in the rapidly expanding gaming sector with participation from leading local and international gaming companies.

The retreat builds on the work of the Dubai Films and Games Commission and the Dubai Gaming Committee to develop a globally competitive gaming ecosystem in the emirate.

Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, said Dubai continues to build a future-ready media environment that supports its economic ambitions and long-term vision for sustainable growth.

She highlighted the role of media as a strategic driver of development, strengthening Dubai’s global presence, supporting economic competitiveness and contributing to efforts to attract investment and talent in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Badri added that the council is focusing on high-growth sectors such as gaming, which has developed into a multi-billion-dollar global industry, with Dubai possessing the foundations needed to establish itself as an international gaming hub.

Vision for future

The meeting also discussed the outcomes of the recent Media Retreat, which brought together more than 100 executives and decision-makers from advertising, marketing, film, gaming and digital media sectors.

The gathering focused on shaping the next phase of industry development and improving future readiness by addressing key areas including infrastructure, talent development, regulation, innovation and investment.

The meeting was attended by Dubai Media Council members Aisha Miran, Malek Al Malek, Hala Badri, Mohammed Al Mulla, Younus Al Nasser, Arif Amiri and Khalfan Juma Belhoul.
